Tamir Was Playing with His Toy in the Park (No Indictment), 2015

Tamir Rice was a sixth grader, playing with a toy gun in the park.  The officers shot him on-site without attempting to de-escalate the situation.  The jury declined to indict the officers.  Amid all of the pain surrounding the constant barage of news stories featuring officers killing black and brown people, it was hard to explain to my own sixth graders why a kid just like them had to die, and no one had to answer for his murder.

Tamir Was Playing with His Toy in the Park (No Indictment) is a standard open-edition print on natural white semi-gloss heavy weight paper richly printed to reveal true-to life color, with a white matboard.  Comes packaged in plastic sleeve.
